Introduction
We expand interdisciplinary cooperation and research momentum through an innovative model of industry-academia collaboration.
We work with enterprises to develop key sustainable technologies and cultivate high-level leaders to move towards a new era of a global zero-carbon economy.
Our college is oriented towards technological research and development of low-carbon processes, carbon capture and storage, natural carbon sinks, grid system integration, energy storage, hydrogen energy, and other forward-looking sustainable technologies, as outlined in Taiwan's 2050 Net Zero Emissions Roadmap.
Although the booming semiconductor industry has brought significant commercial benefits to the global economy, its production processes utilize many resources, such as water and electricity, emitting excessive greenhouse gases and waste. In response to global environmental sustainability and ESG requirements, the semiconductor industry needs to undergo a low-carbon transition in product processes, recycling and circular economy practices, and sustainable development technologies.
Therefore, NCU’s Graduate College of Sustainability and Green Energy envisions becoming a leading international institute in sustainable development. The curriculum is planned to connect industries in the circular economy, smart manufacturing, and semiconductors to develop key sustainable technologies and cultivate high-level green-collar talents.
Objectives:
- Commitment to industry low-carbon transformation, moving towards corporate sustainability.
- Alignment with ESG and UN SDGs, exerting sustainable value and influence.
Mission:
- Technological Innovation: Collaborate with industry in interdisciplinary research and development of green energy and negative emissions technologies, apply artificial intelligence and digital technology in renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and circular economy fields, and commit to industrial low-carbon transformation towards sustainability.
