Academic and Research Profile

Professor Hwa Chien is currently a Distinguished Professor at the Graduate Institute of Hydrological and Oceanic Sciences, National Central University, and serves as Director of the Center for Advanced Earth Science Applications. He also serves as Vice Dean of the Graduate College of Sustainability and Green Energy.

His research expertise includes air-sea interaction, coastal sediment transport, high-frequency and microwave radar ocean remote sensing, and wave dynamics. He has long been engaged in ocean observation and marine-dynamics research, integrating Earth sciences with advanced applications in marine technology.

His academic background spans ocean observation, coastal hydrology, and ocean engineering.
